The Coppa Italia is at the Last 16 stage and the Friulani will be taking their chances against Rafa Benitez's Napoli.
Looking ahead to that game, Stramaccioni is aware that it will ask a lot of his players.
“We are going into this game with the highest levels of effort, giving continuity to our personality-driven performances of the last period,” the Coach has told reporters today.
“I don't intend to snub this duty, we want to do well against Napoli. We'll bring many youth players with us again.”
Stramaccioni was asked if he had any desires from the January transfer window, but his concern appeared to be of a different nature.
“My only regret has to do with our injuries. This troubles us in some departments, but I'm really happy with the effort of the players, including those who must play out of their position.
“Our emergency depends on injuries. Those who play are working overtime.”
The 39-year-old was asked about Rodrigo Aguirre, who returned to Udinese after being loaned for six months to Empoli.
“Aguirre is a young promise, he's been training the past two days. He's available and he'll come with us to Napoli, I'm not ruling out his use.
“We believe in him, even though he's never been given a chance at Empoli. I'm just saying that we've got some very clear projects here and I'm happy to be working with the players I've got.
“I'll say this again, we are currently penalised by two casual situations – injuries and the Africa Cup of Nations.
“But this mustn't take our attention away, because those who are pulling the cart ahead are giving absolutely everything they can give.
“My only regret has to do with the players who are not available, like [Mauro] Domizzi, for example. In any case I'm happy with the attitude shown by my players.
“We even had a few people playing away from their usual role and they did exceptionally well. Any evaluation beyond that belongs to the club.”
