Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio believes that Samir Handanovic will sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri.
The Slovenian goalkeeper’s future has been the subject of speculation, with the ex-Udinese man pointedly refusing to rule out a San Siro departure.
The shot-stopper would be a free agent in 2016, but Ausilio doesn’t think the penalty specialist will be leaving the Beneamata.
“We’re very happy with our goalkeeper, who we focussed on and invested a lot in two years ago,” the director told Sky after Handanovic saved another penalty during the Europa League win over Dnipro.
“There was a lot of competition for him but we got him.
“We’ve started talking about the renewal, the things that are being said are just the usual speechifying which goes on in these situations.
“We want to continue with him [Handanovic], the intention is to continue together for a long time.”
