Marek Hamsik has warned his Napoli teammates against complacency in preparing for their crucial Champions League clash with Villarreal.

The Yellow Submarine are struggling in La Liga and in Europe this season having lost seven of their last 10 matches across both competitions. They are also currently without main dangerman Giuseppe Rossi through injury.

However, Hamsik argues that they cannot be underestimated going into Wednesday’s Champions League Group A clash. The Azzurri need three points to guarantee a place in the knockout stages, or at least match Manchester City’s result from their game against Bayern Munich.

“We must try to beat Villarreal, whilst seeing what happens between Manchester City and Bayern.

“The Spaniards are struggling in their League and have not recorded any points in the Champions League this year, but they are still a good team, very difficult to deal with. For us it will be a very difficult game, we will have to suffer and struggle until the end of the 90 minutes if we want to succeed.”

Walter Mazzarri takes a full-strength squad to El Madrigal for this encounter. Juan Zuniga is available after suspension. Christian Maggio and Salvatore Aronica are both one booking away from suspension in the competition.

Napoli squad to face Villarreal: De Sanctis, Rosati, Colombo, Aronica, Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Fernandez, Fideleff, Grava, Dossena, Dzemaili, Gargano, Hamsik, Inler, Maggio, Zuniga, Cavani, Lavezzi, Mascara, Pandev, Santana, Ammendola.
