The midfielder played in last night’s 1-0 home loss, which saw the Partenopei go out 2-1 on aggregate.
“We had a slight advantage after the 1-1 draw in the first leg and created so many chances to secure qualification to the Final,” wrote Hamsik on his official site.

“Unfortunately, we were unable to score and our opponents got the goal. We are truly sad for how things went and for having disappointed our fans.”
President Aurelio De Laurentiis was furious at the setback and stormed into the Press room, announcing the team would be “indefinitely” put into a training retreat.
“We have put in some squalid performances that are unworthy of Napoli,” said the patron.
“From today we change tack. We need a training session for the mind, more respect for the fans, the club, the Coach and for themselves.”
