Marek Hamsik has again pledged his future to Napoli. “I grew up here and am becoming a great player, while the team grew with me. That’s why I’m happy to stay.”
The Slovak midfielder and captain Paolo Cannavaro took control of the Press conference today, giving Coach Walter Mazzarri a rest after securing second place.
“I grew up at Napoli and am becoming a great player, while the team grew with me and is proving to be better year after year,” said Hamsik.
“That’s why I’m happy to stay at Napoli. This has been a great season for me, as I provided many assists and scored quite a few goals. In my view, Napoli will carry on improving.”
Hamsik has been at the San Paolo since July 2007 and was asked whether he’d become a symbol of the club, like Javier Zanetti is for Inter.
“I cannot promise that, but I do want to stay here. There is talk of challenging for the Scudetto and Champions League, so I want to be here when Napoli write history.”
