Catania presented new forward Sebastian Leto to the fans today. “This is an important step for my career.”

The Argentine forward joined on a free transfer after he terminated his contract with Panathinaikos in January.

“This new adventure is very important for me and I don’t want to get it wrong,” said the 26-year-old in a Press conference.

“I am feeling much better now after my knee injury and hope to be training with the team as soon as possible. This is an important step for my career, as Serie A is very tough.

“I’ve always liked Catania, as they play excellent football here, and admittedly the fact there were already so many Argentines in the side pushed me towards them.

“I hope to bring my experience to this team and even take them into Europe. I can play on the right or the left of attack, so I am at the complete disposal of the Coach. I can also play centre-forward, although it is not my ideal position.”

Leto will wear the Number 11 jersey. He was brought to Europe by Liverpool in 2007, albeit loaned immediately to Olympiakos due to work permit issues.

He was then sold to Panathinaikos in 2009.
