Francesco Guidolin admits Udinese “have years of work behind” tomorrow’s Europa League play-off with Slovan Liberec.
The Friulani are accustomed to continental heartbreak, having lost two consecutive Champions League play-offs.
They hope to avoid the same fate in the Europa League with Thursday’s first leg at the Stadio Nereo Rocco in Trieste, their temporary ‘home’ as the Stadio Friuli is undergoing a revamp.
“Are we the favourites? I never feel like the favourite before I step on to the pitch,” noted the Coach in his Press conference.
“Slovan Liberec are already into their season and the pitch will be the judge, as always. It will be difficult, we must give our all because this qualification is truly important.
“We want to achieve the objective. We’ll do everything to go through, because we have years of work behind us. If it doesn’t go well, we’ll have to concentrate on something else.
“The tie will only be decided in the second leg, so I want to see the team concentrated. Slovan Liberec are a generous, hard-working side who never give up. We must use the right qualities to make it our game.”
