Francesco Guidolin hints Antonio Di Natale will not start in Udinese’s Europa League tie with AZ Alkmaar. “He can’t handle three games in a week.”

The veteran striker has won the Capocannoniere title for two years in a row and is on top of the charts again this season, but is also recovering from a micro-fracture to his foot.

“He needs to recuperate and can’t handle three games in a week,” said the Coach ahead of tomorrow’s first leg in the Round of 16.

“He can come off the bench and change the match, but in such a long and tiring campaign it is necessary to take into account the age of the players and their condition.”

Udinese are the only remaining Italian club in the Europa League and hope to progress to the quarter-finals.

“It’s good to be considered the surprise outfit. Always starting from the shadows, emerging into the spotlight to amaze people is what pushes us to give our all. It’s the best thing for us.

“We are proud to be in the final 16 and care about doing well in this competition.”
