Francesco Guidolin snapped at Edy Reja ahead of Udinese’s Champions League clash with Lazio. “I don’t complain about injuries…”

Reja stated this week that his men would have already secured third place this season if they hadn’t suffered an injury crisis.

“I could say the same thing, but I’ve always considered it best not to complain about injuries and instead focus on the players I have at my disposal,” replied Guidolin.

“Everyone has their own way of dealing with things. He has his beliefs and I have mine.”

Lazio are still in third place, but only three points separate them from Napoli, Udinese and Inter.

“This is certainly a very important match and a play-off for third place, so that must give us extra motivation. For the second year running we are right up there challenging for a place in the Champions League.

“If we do not win, then our hopes for third are notably damaged. Therefore, this is ‘The Game.’ As for the Europa League, that is still open to us.”

Maurizio Domizzi is carrying an injury he picked up in training, while Dusan Basta, Emmanuel Badu, Andrea Coda and Damiano Ferronetti are also not 100 per cent fit.

Antonio Floro Flores sits out a ban and Mauricio Isla is out for the rest of the season.
