Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin hasn’t given up hope of Europa League qualification – despite Thursday’s 2-0 loss at AZ.

Two second-half goals have put the Dutch team in control of the tie, but the Italian tactician still believes in a comeback.

“Qualification is now complicated, but we’ll have a go in the return leg,” admitted the recent Panchina d’Oro winner.

“It will be tough as we will be up against a good side, but we will give it a go. We will give everything we have in order to overturn this result.”

AZ began the game well, but they had to be patient to break the deadlock in their round of 16 encounter.

“AZ deserved to take the lead in the first 30 minutes of the game,” admitted Guidolin. “Instead, we conceded when we were playing at our best.

“It wasn’t our most brilliant performance, but it’s not over yet.”
