Udinese tactician Francesco Guidolin has won the Panchina d’Oro for 2010-11 – the award handed out to Serie A’s best Coach.

“I’m very emotional,” the Italian stated at Coverciano as he received the ‘Golden Bench’ prize which is voted for by his peers.

“I didn’t expect this and it has been a long journey to this recognition,” stated the former Palermo and Vicenza tactician.

“I thank Udinese and all of my players for this. I dedicate this prize to them and also my parents.”

The 56-year-old has been at Udinese since 2010 and he masterminded their fourth-placed finish in Serie A last season. They are currently third.

Meanwhile, Attilio Tesser was named as Serie B’s top tactician for last season following Novara’s promotion to the top flight.

“I thank my colleagues, my staff and everyone at Novara,” stated Tesser despite his recent dismissal at the Piedmont club.
