Francesco Guidolin steered Udinese to Europe once again, but revealed he “received an offer from a big club.”
The Friulani notched up a club record eighth consecutive victory this evening, crushing Inter 5-2 at San Siro, to secure fifth place and access to the Europa League.
“It was an unexpected twist to this season, so I can only thank all my players, who were unstoppable right to the end,” Guidolin told Radio Rai.
“We started out with the core of the old team and many young players, so we didn’t expect such an impressive and rapid growth.
“The end to the season was extraordinary and everyone deserves praise. We always start out to get 40 points and secure safety, but this time we went well beyond that.”
Guidolin then revealed he has been approached by a top side, but appears to have turned it down.
“I will never reveal who came looking for me, but I will say it’s no longer true that big clubs have never made me an offer.”
