The Colombian midfielder had been heavily linked with moves to Manchester United, Zenit and Valencia, but could not agree a transfer and was welcomed back to the Nerazzurri fold.
“The game against Sassuolo was very important for me,” he said in a Press conference, having scored in Sunday’s 7-0 victory.
“It was the start of a new story. I felt the strong affection of the crowd and that really made me happy. Right now, though, we must focus on this next match with Dnipro and give our all.”
Inter begin their Europa League group phase in Ukraine on Thursday, kicking off at 18.00 UK time (17.00 GMT).
