Giuntoli was asked what remains after the end of the all too brief Ancelotti era.
“What remains is great disappointment for a great coach, wonderful person who gave us so much both on and off the pitch. I don’t want to say anything else,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia.
“You can see Rino had a journey dealing with lower league sides, youth teams, and he has this great character, also perhaps because he was a strong player. He clearly knows the game inside out.
“We hope to see an aggressive Napoli, a strong side that will try to take control of the game and take all three points.”
There are reports now that the management situation has been resolved, President Aurelio De Laurentiis will focus on contract renegotiations with players like Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens.
“The President has been fantastic, helping us through this passage and trying to give the team a sense of calm. We’ll see what happens with the contracts, but the important thing now is to get back on track.”
