Now French site footmercato and Mediaset Premium in Italy claim the two clubs reached a verbal agreement worth €15m plus €3m bonuses, so the Ivory Coast international will fly out to China next week in order to complete the move.
Roma are hesitant to make the deal public, as over the last few days Milan saw Luiz Adriano return from China after suggesting certain promises were not kept by Jiangsu Suning.
The same club is in negotiations with Inter for Fredy Guarin, while Roma could also sell Seydou Doumbia along with Gervinho.
