Genoa sporting director Rino Foschi says he would happily sign former Palermo and Roma stopper Simon Kjaer.
“He is a player that I like a lot, a very interesting player,” Foschi told TMW. “I signed him for Palermo and then [former colleague] Walter Sabatini, after Wolfsburg, brought him back to Italy at Roma.
“He should have done better in the capital, but he perhaps found it tough to fit in with the tactics of Luis Enrique.
“He’s young and good, but Simon is doing well for Wolfsburg again and I doubt that they will let him go. I admire him, but a lot has to happen in order for me to bring him here.”
Danish international Kjaer, 23, spent last season on loan at Roma but the club opted against netting him outright after he struggled for La Magica.
