Genoa have confirmed that they are hoping to sign a new midfielder during the January transfer window.
Boss Alberto Malesani recently spoke of his admiration for Roma’s Fabio Simplicio and the outfit have now confirmed he is the type of player wanted.
“I’m not hiding the fact that we are looking for a new midfielder,” sporting director Stefano Capozucca noted.

Genoa are expected to be busy next month, especially as they have already made it clear that they will be hoping to sign a centre-forward too.
Genoa, joint sixth in Serie A with Napoli and Roma, beat Bologna 2-1 at the weekend. They face Napoli at the San Paolo on Wednesday.
