Enrico Preziosi has yet to make a decision on whether to confirm Davide Ballardini as Genoa boss or make a summer change.
The Rossoblu chief was expected to hold talks with Ballardini this week, but Preziosi says he needs more time to ponder his options.
"This decision is too important for our future and we will take all the time necessary to make it," he stated.
"I'm not in a position where I can afford to make another mistake. I don't want to get into a situation where I am forced to sack a Coach in a few months' time.

"Ballardini has done a good job, but one win more or one win less between now and the end of the season won't make a difference."
Ballardini was hired mid-season after the Marassi patron decided to sack Gian Piero Gasperini following a problematic start to the campaign.
Genoa have been linked with former Roma tactician Claudio Ranieri, Delio Rossi of Palermo and Siena's Antonio Conte.
