Genoa's abandoned Week 11 fixture with Inter has been rearranged for December 13, says Enrico Preziosi.

After a League meeting on Monday, the Corriere dello Sport report the Grifone President's declaration that the game will now be held on Tuesday, December 13 for a 19.45 UK time kick-off.

That midweek otherwise sees only the final Europa League group stage fixtures contested.

The Serie A match was called off as the pitch and surrounding areas of the stadium fell victim to the extreme weather conditions to have hit the city in recent days.

Torrential rain and flooding have claimed a number of lives in Genoa and both clubs agreed that for safety reasons Sunday's lunchtime kick-off would be postponed.

Whilst the rearranged date represents a three-day gap from Genoa's preceding match – a Saturday trip to Siena – the game is scheduled to take place just over 48 hours after Inter's fixture from that same weekend, as the Nerazzurri play on the Sunday.

Preziosi revealed, however, that Wednesday was not an option.

“We have no problems coinciding with the Europa League, so we agreed to play Tuesday night. On Wednesday it is reserved for UEFA.”
