Italian champions Juventus have been told by Genoa to forget about signing Ciro Immobile this month.

The Under-21 international, co-owned between the two clubs, is wanted by the Turin giants for the second half of the season.

Talks between officials took place on Tuesday, but no deal was agreed for the former Pescara centre-forward.

Now, President Enrico Preziosi has declared that they can’t afford to do without the 22-year-old for the next six months.

“Ciro is not on the market,” Preziosi noted. “He won’t be leaving Genoa because we have to avoid relegation.”

Immobile is the club’s joint top scorer in Serie A this season as both he and Marco Borriello have five goals each.

Genoa are third from bottom, two points adrift of safety.
