The League have confirmed that they have rearranged the Week 22 fixture between Genoa and Sampdoria to Monday evening.

The game had originally been scheduled for the Sunday lunchtime kick-off, but this decision came under criticism for its clash with a large market held at the same time in the Marassi area.

On from local MPs having tried to have it rearranged, and both sets of fans indicating that they would boycott the game in protest, reports yesterday suggested the League would relent.

With the Genoa’s local authorities ordering the game’s postponement yesterday, the League have confirmed that on the grounds of public order and safety, the fixture is rearranged from Sunday’s 11.30am kick-off to Monday night, for a 7.45pm UK time start.
