Lyon Coach Bruno Genesio credited “decisive” Gigi Buffon saves and saw “positives” despite the home defeat to Juventus.
Although the Bianconeri dominated possession, the hosts saw an Alexandre Lacazette penalty saved and failed to break them down after Mario Lemina’s red card.
Late on, substitute Juan Cuadrado snatched the 1-0 Champions League victory with a scorching drive from an improbable angle.

“Naturally we feel disappointment and frustration for the result,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“All that matters ultimately are the three points and Juve took them. The start was positive, but we fell at the feet of a great goalkeeper.
“It wasn’t just the penalty, but the three or four great saves were decisive. Those change the result and it’s a pity, because we had the opportunities to take the lead.
“This was Lacazette’s first start since the injury and he made an enormous effort. He really helped the team, now it’s up to us to reassure him. These are the moments where a player must show mental strength and it’s our job to show confidence in him, because he can help us win many games this season.”
Juventus and Sevilla are now joint top of the group with seven points each, while Lyon follow on three. Is their qualification out of reach already?
“I don’t think so, as there are many positives to take from this game. We were able to create problems for Juventus and should be proud of the performance.
“Nothing is out of reach yet, as we have the game in Turin and then face Sevilla. We’ve proved that we can make life difficult for the opposition.”
