Gennaro Gattuso admits Milan “expected to do more” in their 1-1 draw with Parma. “It wasn’t a great performance and they deserved the point.”
Samu Castillejo opened the scoring with a precise header on Suso’s cross, but a late Bruno Alves free kick flew into the near top corner.
“Our first half was too sluggish, Parma closed the gaps and it wasn’t a great performance,” confessed the Coach on Sky Sport Italia.

“We were lucky to take the lead and then Parma made the most of that free kick with a wonderful goal. They deserved the point.
“Parma have specific characteristics, defend with five men and we knew how they played. It was hot for both teams, but they had more determination than us at times.
“We were naïve, for example giving away the free kick. Maybe I am not a good enough Coach yet to let the players realise the importance of these small details.
“I am objective and like to say things how they are. I expected to come here and do more, albeit knowing the difficulties Parma could cause us.
“We were unlucky on what would’ve been our second goal, as the offside trap was very tight. That’s how it goes.”
