The Grifone make this trip without Cristian Ansaldi, who was hospitalised with appendicitis, Giovanni Marchese and Ezequiel Munoz, but Leonardo Pavoletti does return.
“In my view Pavoletti is fully healed, he has trained and can play. He was actually ready to return last week, but we wanted to be very prudent,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“It’s going to be difficult because Napoli, along with Juventus, are fighting for the Scudetto. I won’t sit here listing all the reasons to praise this team, but every side has weaknesses and Genoa must try to make the most of our own strengths too.
“We need to give a sense of consistency to our recent good form. We don’t consider ourselves out of the relegation battle yet, as there’s a long way to go and even in extremely tough fixtures like Napoli we must try to get results.
“When Napoli have space to run into, they become very difficult to stop. I think playing with a passive defence that sits back would therefore only be giving them the advantage.
“In games like these, pace on the counter becomes very important.”
