“The derby wasn’t all bad, so we should begin again from the positive aspects of the performance,” said the Coach after Monday’s defeat to their local rivals Sampdoria.
“Genoa have character and the team is packed with positive players. We must react straight away and get a result at Livorno.
“We are going to play in what is traditionally a tough venue for us and are taking on a Livorno side that has strengthened over the transfer window.”
The Grifone are without Alessandro Gamberini, Antonio Donnarumma and Juraj Kucka, while Livorno could give Inter-owned striker Ishak Belfodil his first start.
“We know full well the second half of the season is more hard-fought, so this is going to be an important match for both teams,” added Gasperini.
“We are working to get Giuseppe Sculli back to his usual standards, as he is a player of great quality. Alberto Gilardino is doing well and we need to ensure he is supported in the best possible way.”
