“Our objective is to win tomorrow’s game against Parma,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“We’re playing at home and must ride the wave of our success over Verona last week. Parma are unbeaten in a long time, are playing very well and have quality in their ranks. However, they also have weaknesses.
“We are motivated to do well and climb further up the Serie A table. Only after that will we think about the Coppa Italia semi-final with Napoli.”
The Giallorossi have closed the gap on leaders Juventus to six points, but the Scudetto race could be transformed by the arrival of former Roma striker Osvaldo on loan from Southampton.
“I have a lot of respect for the players who have left Roma. Osvaldo is a quality player who went in England and now returned to Italy.
“These are the strange things that happen on the market, but it changes nothing for us. It’s not my problem. It might be a problem when we face Juve in the penultimate round of the season, but there’s time for that.
“I don’t find it particularly normal for a team to change in January, so I am happy the transfer window is now closed.
“We signed Radja Nainggolan, Michel Bastos and Rafael Toloi, who is still young though he already has some experience. Nicolas Burdisso wanted to leave, so I wanted to be sure we had a good option in Toloi.”
Bastos could get his Roma debut tomorrow, as Federico Balzaretti and Dodo are both out of action for at least six weeks.
