Milan CEO Adriano Galliani says the Rossoneri have to get back into the Champions League this season.
The San Siro official also stressed the need for last year’s disappointing eighth place Serie A finish to be seen as a blip and for the club to return to challenging at the top immediately.
“Barbara Berlusconi really wanted Casa Milan,” Galliani said to Radio Italia at the official launch of the club’s new headquarters.
“Here in front of us there is a beautiful piazza that is bigger than Piazza Duomo.
“We hope to all be here celebrating together soon, a bit like Real Madrid do. We must get back into the Champions League, from 2000 onwards we did it for 13 years in a row.
“We need to get back there because we will miss it. Yesterday I felt a positive atmosphere around Milanello, so I think the results will come.
“Last year should be seen as a break year, but it must only last for one season.”
