Sassuolo starlet Davide Frattesi reveals he is a Roma fan and didn’t want to leave the Giallorossi.
The 22-year-old has scored his first two Serie A goals against Venezia and Sassuolo and is regarded as one of the most interesting prospects in Italian football.
His nickname is ‘Principino’ the same one as Claudio Marchisio.
“My grandma calls me like this because she says I look like him,” Frattesi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I wish… I am not ven close to achieving what he did. I met him when I was at Roma. I had joined the senior team for a game against Juventus, I asked for his shirt, and he wanted mine. He congratulated me with a text after the game against Juve, it was nice.”
Frattesi is a product of Lazio and Roma academy, but the 22-year-old is a Giallorossi fan.
“Daniele De Rossi was my idol, that’s why I wear the No.16,” he said.
“As a Romanista, I wanted to stay, but one accepts everything and now I am super happy to be at Sassuolo.”
