The Viola teenagers beat Hellas Verona 1-0 in the Final this evening thanks to an Eduard Dutu header, consolidating their grip on the competition they had also won last season.
It was a great way for new Primavera coach Alberto Aquilani to begin his management career in Florence.
“Thanks guys – you were superb! It's great to see you lift that trophy to the sky!” President Commisso told the official Fiorentina website.
“I wish I could hug each and every one of you to congratulate you on this achievement. It's a fantastic result and for you it is just the start of what I hope will be a successful career in which you achieve everything you desire and deserve.
“Congratulations to Alberto Aquilani and the coaching staff. I spoke to everyone before the game and he couldn't have got off to a better start in his new job.
“We mustn't forget Emiliano Bigica either: it was thanks to his valuable work that had the chance to play and win this final.
“Getting results at youth level is very important because football is still about hopes and dreams at this level. Our aim is to lay the foundations to develop men and women both as footballers and as people – that is the objective we hope our new training ground in Bagno a Ripoli will be built with.
“I want to dedicate this first trophy to everyone on the team who earned and deserves it, to the entire Viola family and to our fans, hoping that it's a sign of good things to come this season.”
