“We are very excited for tonight because there is so much enthusiasm around the side,” Mencucci told Sky Sport Italia.
“Playing on a par with Inter is something to be really proud of. It will be a great match and I hope the best team wins.
“We take our objectives week by week, but the main thing is to play well, as if you play good football then you’ll be near the top of the table. At Christmas we can start evaluating where we are.
“The fans love Vincenzo Montella because he lets them see entertaining football. In that sense, the Fiorentina supporters are like Real Madrid.”
David Pizarro is suspended, while Mario Gomez and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado are injured.
“We’re not in an emergency situation, as the replacements will be up to the task. Giuseppe Rossi is performing above and beyond expectations. He had such a serious injury that kept him out for two years, but it’s all behind him now.”
