Fiorentina are very active on the transfer market, sending Marco Benassi to Cremonese and in advanced negotiations to bring Josip Brekalo from Wolfsburg.
The Viola have of course also been at the centre of another story and are resisting Leicester City offers for Nico Gonzalez.
According to Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, they are now making a strong bid for Brekalo and the deal is not related to any potential exit for the Argentina international.
It would be a return to Serie A for Croatia international Brekalo, who already played for Torino on loan in 2021-22.
He was also linked with Monza, but Fiorentina have managed to get in front of the queue.
It’s reported Wolfsburg want €1m, plus circa €2m commission for Brekalo’s agents, as his contract only runs to June 30.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have already agreed a deal to loan midfielder Benassi to Serie A strugglers Cremonese until the end of the current campaign.
