Massimo Ficcadenti tells Cagliari “good performances are not enough anymore” ahead of their relegation dogfight with Pescara.
This will be the first match at the new Is Arenas that is not behind closed doors, as 5,000 season ticket holders are allowed into one section of the stands.
“We live on results. This is an important game, played at home in front of at least some of our fans,” noted the Coach.
“We’ll do everything we can to win and overtake Pescara in the standings. We have to win, as good performances are not enough anymore.
“There have been mistakes, but the squad always stayed in the match against all opponents. We are competitive in all arenas.
“I could change some things in the line-up, but the spirit must remain the same. We have to be aggressive and without fear.”
Last week Cagliari’s home game with Roma was called off and a 3-0 victory awarded to the Giallorossi, as President Massimo Cellino had invited fans to attend the fixture despite the stadium failing security checks.
“The fans are crucial for the future of Cagliari. The team, despite the difficulties, have shown they do things the right way.
“Victories are the only way to build self-confidence. Pescara are organised, pacey and enthusiastic, so it won’t be easy.”
