Gianluca Festa insists Cagliari “still believe and will keep fighting” to stay in Serie A after a 1-1 draw with Juventus.
This was a golden opportunity against a Juve second string side distracted by the Champions League semi-finals, but the Sardinians only really stepped up the pressure in the last five minutes.
“A draw here in any other situation would’ve been considered a great result,” confessed the Coach in his Press conference.

This was a golden opportunity against a Juve second string side distracted by the Champions League semi-finals, but the Sardinians only really stepped up the pressure in the last five minutes.
“A draw here in any other situation would’ve been considered a great result,” confessed the Coach in his Press conference.
“We had our chance to win at the end with Marco Sau. It’s a pity, but he mustn’t be blamed for this. I am happy with the overall performance and we had the right spirit.
“In the first half we went close with Diego Farias too. Winning here would’ve been magnificent.”
The single point is worth little to Cagliari, who remain locked in the relegation zone.
“It’s not easy for the team to be in this situation. They’ve realised this is a sport where you have to always give your best. It’ll be a great lesson if things don’t go well this season.
“We have to focus the attention elsewhere. We are a team, this is sport, we must enjoy our football and do the best we can. We can’t just think about the table.”
