Ciro Ferrara admits he is torn between his former clubs, so hopes “Napoli win the Scudetto and Juventus get the Champions League.”

The current Sampdoria Coach won the Serie A title as a player with both Juve and Napoli, who are battling for the tournament this season.

“I never know who to cheer on,” Ferrara told Mediaset. “Last season Juve won the Scudetto and Napoli lifted the Coppa Italia.

“This year I hope the Napoli win the Scudetto and Juventus get the Champions League, so everyone’s happy.

“I do believe Napoli can challenge for the title. They have matured and have more strength in depth compared to last year.

“Juve have something more in terms of mentality and history, but I don’t know if they’ll have the same hunger as last season.”

Ferrara has to focus on Sampdoria, who are back on track with two consecutive victories.

“Our only thought is to secure safety. We had an extremely negative period and are out of it now, but we must remain wary and keep working.”
