Ciro Ferrara admits “I want to coach Italy” but “I’m not the right profile at this time”.
The former centre-back has been on the bench at Juventus, Sampdoria and Wuhan Zall, and he was also CT for the Italian Under-21 side.
“I’d like to Coach the national team, because I already had the chance to lead the Under-21s,” Ferrara told Canale 21.
“I’m not the right profile at this time though. With the names that are rumoured, I don’t think they’re thinking about me.

“They probably need someone with a certain pedigree, also to cover other problems, but it would be a fantastic experience.
“[Fabio] Cannavaro could be the right profile, but right now he’s busy with the biggest team in China [Guangzhou Evergrande].
“As for [Gianluigi] Buffon, we can’t talk about him because he’s still playing for Juventus.”
