Ciro Ferrara drops hints as to Sampdoria’s approach against Udinese tomorrow. “Mauri Icardi will start, as Eder and Gianni Munari are still out.”

The Blucerchiati had lost seven on the trot, but seem to be rediscovering their form and take to the field on Monday at 18.00 GMT.

“I am concentrated and satisfied with the work we have done so far, albeit aware that the risks are always round the corner,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“There is a lot of confidence and we must keep up this rhythm. Gaetano Berardi had a nasty knock and we’ll have to evaluate his condition tomorrow, while Eder and Munari are still out. Nicola Pozzi will be on the bench and will probably have a brief run-out, so you know Icardi will start.”

Former Juventus winger Marcelo Estigarribia is likely to again be on the bench.

“Estigarribia gave a great contribution to the team in the opening rounds and I’m convinced he will be able to do that in future too,” added Ferrara. “Nobody is put aside or considered a failure, but I have to pick 11 players.

“We must be wary of Udinese, who are going through many ups and downs. Antonio Di Natale is obviously the danger man, though they are also often effective from set plays.”
