Diego Falcinelli admits “you can’t turn down Fiorentina”, and aims a jab at Sassuolo Coach Beppe Iachini.
The forward joined the Viola on loan yesterday, as part of the deal which took Khouma Babacar to Emilia, and he was officially presented today.
“It’s simple, for me you can’t turn down Fiorentina,” Falcinelli told the assembled media.
“This is the chance of a lifetime, I wanted to go to a top club in the summer and in the end it was delayed by a few months.

“It’s simple, for me you can’t turn down Fiorentina,” Falcinelli told the assembled media.
“This is the chance of a lifetime, I wanted to go to a top club in the summer and in the end it was delayed by a few months.
“It might be that I miss some goals or tackles, but I can promise you that my shirt will always be sweaty.
“When I played against Fiorentina I was impressed with their physicality and quality, but maybe with a lot of new players, and young ones at that, it’s not easy to find consistency.
“In terms of quality this is one of the best squads in Italy, but it takes time to find consistency.”
Falcinelli has managed just two goals in 20 games so far this season, but he insists that’s down to Sassuolo’s Coaches this season, Cristian Bucchi then Beppe Iachini.
“I certainly found some problems at Sassuolo, where we thought we’d have a different season. After five years with the ideas and philosophy of [Eusebio] Di Francesco we changed Coach.
“I’ve always played better with two strikers, even last year, and this year I put in more effort in a defensive style.
“My best role is playing with another striker close to me, I like to move about I don’t like to stand still.
“Stefano Pioli? I’ve worked with him before and he gave me my debut in Serie B. I’m happy to find him again, because he impressed me as a man and a Coach.
“We talked yesterday, now it’s important to rediscover lost enthusiasm.”
