Fabregas’ quip about Conte came during his analysis of Kevin de Bruyne’s performance during Belgium’s 3-0 World Cup win against Panama for BBC Sport, which saw the Manchester City midfielder play in a deeper role.
“Especially for Belgium now, [De Bruyne] plays a little bit deeper,” explained the Spaniard.

“I am not a big fan of this because he is so good and he can deliver so much in the final third that I think here you are taking a bit too much from his game.”

The former Italy CT deployed Fabregas as a deep-lying midfielder alongside N’Golo Kante last season following Nemanja Matic’s exit.
