Uruguay CT and former Serie A boss Oscar Tabarez has rejected plans for a life-size statue of him to be erected in his country’s capital.
Ole reports the Municipality of Montevideo wanted to build the statue to show its appreciation for Tabarez’s work in taking La Celeste to four World Cups.
However, the ex-Cagliari and Milan Coach would have declined the offer on the grounds that it would ‘break the spirit of unity and communion that the national team seek to create and foster.
