Vidic has already signed a deal with the Nerazzurri from June 2014, when he’ll be a free agent after his contract with United expires.
“At the end of the season, a really important part of my life and career will be over, and that’s sad,” Vidic told MUTV.
“I’ve been starting to think about the times I’ve spent here, the good and bad moments. I’ve been a part of so much success and worked with so many great people who’ve helped me to develop as a footballer.
“But that’s the way it is, that’s life and you have to move on. I’m looking forward to a new challenge but there is still lots for me to do here.
“We have important games in front of us and I would like to be a part of them to do as much as I can to help the club get through this difficult time.”
According to The Sun as well as several Italian papers, Vidic could be joined at Inter by his current Manchester United teammate Evra.
The left-back will also be a free agent in the summer and there have been consistent reports of negotiations with his entourage.
It’s reported a two-year contract has been drawn up and personal terms agreed.
Evra is no stranger to Italy, as he started his career in this country with Monza and Marsala.
