An Empoli youth player was hit by a stone, allegedly thrown by Fiorentina supporters in the Viareggio Tournament.
Yesterday saw the Viola youths take on their Tuscan rivals, with the Florentines eventually emerging with a 3-2 win.
Sadly however, Alessio Gianneschi was hit by a stone, seemingly thrown from the Fiorentina end, as he was warming up.
It wasn’t the only trouble at the game, as two glass bottles were also thrown at Empoli players warming up, as well as one at the bench where Lamberto Zauli sat.

“ACF Fiorentina wishes to distance itself from the events which occurred after the Viareggio Cup match between Empoli and Fiorentina and reiterate that the club condemns all forms of violence,” the club said in a statement.
Fortunately, Gianneschi escaped with only a cut below his eye.
