Empoli confirm they have turned down “an important offer” for Lorenzo Tonelli, believed to be from Roma.
“There is an important offer on the table for Tonelli, but we have no intention of losing him,” Empoli director of sport Marcello Carli told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We have been clear with everyone. He is an important player for us and remains off the market. Nothing will change, he is staying at Empoli at least until June.”

It’s reported the proposal came from Luciano Spalletti’s Roma, but Sky Sport Italia claim Empoli will capitulate if the bid rises to €8m for the defender.
