The Blucerchiati were beaten 2-1 by Fiorentina last night, meaning they’ve lost four out of five games this season.

“We were naïve on the second goal,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“It’s a pity, as we had started strong in the first 15 minutes, but if you don’t close up the defensive gaps against Franck Ribery and Federico Chiesa, you will pay the price.

“Again, we started the second half well, but then went down to 10 men. I don’t know if Jeison Murillo’s foul was enough for a second yellow, but we do have to be less naïve and read the game well.”

Fabio Quagliarella was only fit to come off the bench against Fiorentina and it could be a similar situation when Sampdoroa host Inter this weekend.

“I hope to have him back against Inter. We worked hard in improving the defence, but I am by nature an attack-minded Coach.”
