However, ahead of his side’s home match with Inter, the tactician stated that anyone playing for Sassuolo should be able to demonstrate they have what it takes to play in Italian football’s top flight.

“I have never understood it [injury crises] as a Coach or as a player,” Di Francesco said at a Press conference. “With Berardi and Duncan it’s as if we sent them on loan and will get them back in January.
“Then, we have lost the soul of the team which is Magnanelli.
“Excuses? I am not looking for them and neither should my players. They have the fortune to play in Serie A and they need to show they can stay here even if they are young.”
The Coach then called for his team to show a better mentality and cut out the mistakes they have been making.
“It’s a particular moment in which we have to add up all our injuries. But I want to talk about the mentality we need to have when we go out on the pitch.
“I want a very compact team, one single unit, with great heart. We need to eliminate all of our carelessness.
“As for the performances, I can’t say anything to my boys – we have paid for some carelessness. In Florence we had a great first half, creating four or five scoring chances, maybe we lacked a little ruthlessness in front of goal.”
