Eusebio Di Francesco insists he didn’t insult Milan, but “there’s a good chance I will stay at Sassuolo next season.”
He spoke to Sky Sport Italia after a 3-1 victory away to Carpi put them one point behind Milan, albeit with a game in hand.
“We did great work and the team has improved, but Milan have more potential than us. Carpi were in good shape and we came here to play an attacking game.”

In his Press conference yesterday, Di Francesco was asked about his future and said he wouldn’t go to a club where there was “confusion,” which many assumed meant Milan.
“I never mentioned any specific club, so some quotes came out that I did not say. I talked in general terms about the face Sassuolo work very well in terms of planning, so there’s a good chance I will stay at Sassuolo next season.
“Of course I always want to improve, but in Italy there is little consideration for projects and consistency. This is why I am happy at Sassuolo and it’ll take something special to make me leave here.
“I like to go where there is clarity and a visible project – without alluding to any particular club.”
