“We could’ve done with a bit of luck and we got it on the last-minute woodwork. Napoli continue to play the best football in Italy, but they don’t finish off their chances,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“They remain a wonderful side to watch and play against. I don’t like alibis, but we are missing so many players, it’s not that big a squad and we lost Matteo Politano as well today…
“I didn’t like the first half performance and we tried to change things after the break. We were coming off a very tough Europa League game in Bilbao.”
Former Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro was given a warm welcome by the Stadio San Paolo crowd.
“It was wonderful to see 50,000 fans in this stadium and we’re frankly not used to that atmosphere. Paolo is a great Napoli fan, so he really cared about this game.”
