“We are happy because we put in a top level performance,” Eder told Inter Channel after Sunday’s 2-1 Derby d’Italia win.
“We are slowly managing to put what the Coach wants on to the pitch and that pleases us. Now we know we need to improve, even if the Juve game represents something that will give us confidence for the future.
“I am pleased to work hard for the team, because that’s how I see the world. If my sacrifice helps Mauro Icardi score and the team to win, then I am just as happy as if I’d scored.”
Inter face Empoli tomorrow evening and Eder knows the club very well, having spent four years there before his Sampdoria spell.
“It is my home, because when I arrived at Empoli I was just a child, so I care a great deal about the club and the people who were close to me.
“Inter have to put in a performance with the same determination that we showed on Sunday. If we win at Empoli, then the result against Juve will become even more valuable.
“We must prove that we won’t take a step back, because with this mentality we can beat anyone. I think there are 34 rounds to go, so it’s early to predict where we could arrive.
“I will only say that we have a strong squad and that if we keep that mentality against the smaller sides too, we can make a big impact this season.”
