Edin Dzeko warned Roma “cannot keep disappearing in these big games” after a tough 3-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
The Giallorossi absolutely dominated the first half and were 2-0 up, though it could’ve been four or five, only to reach 2-2 eight minutes after the restart.
“This can’t keep happening,” Dzeko told Mediaset Premium.
“We cannot keep disappearing in the opening five minutes of the second half in these big games. We have to improve this aspect, both in the defence and in our overall mentality.”
Dzeko broke his goal drought in the Champions League after two years, but it was also his first Roma goal since August 30.
“I am not happy that I only scored two goals since coming to Roma, but I am happy to have scored tonight, above all because we won.
“The team and the club have always been behind me and I dedicate the victory to them. This is why I haven’t felt pressure.”
