The Partenopei have reportedly offered Cavani a new contract, but speculation continues that he may be sold this summer, with interest said to be coming from a number of clubs.
In that event, the Corriere dello Sport have reiterated that Napoli would turn to City’s Bosnian international forward Dzeko as his first replacement.
Dzeko has been linked in the last year with a move away from Eastlands after struggling to hold down a regular place under now departed manager Roberto Mancini.
