Edin Dzeko assures Bosnia-Herzegovina “won’t underestimate” Italy but admits his country have regrets about not finishing second in their qualifying group.
The Nations League playoffs seem like the best hope of reaching Euro 2020 for Bosnia, who have to make up five points in their last two qualifiers, with second-placed Finland facing minnows Liechtenstein next.
“We know Bonucci, I do rather well, but I also know the other players. There aren’t many surprises,” Roma striker Dzeko said at a Press conference.

“Italy are a great team who have won all their matches. They want to continue their winning streak and maybe break the record [of 10 straight wins].
“They’re motivated, even if they’ve already qualified, and even if we have almost no chance of qualifying ourselves, this game will be important for the Nations League. We’ll do our best to beat Italy.
“This isn’t the worst Italian national team to date, they haven’t won eight straight games by chance.
“They have lots of new, young players, and we’ll see what they can do at the Euros. We’re guilty of not finishing second.
“Tomorrow, even if it means nothing to us in terms of the group, we won’t underestimate Italy.
“Certainly ourselves, the players and staff are disappointed with our results, as are the fans.
“I think we have a team who were supposed to finished second in this group. We didn’t succeed because we didn’t play at our usual level.
“Tomorrow we have a match against a great national team, where we can try to win and regain our belief.”
